People who inspire me: Candice Olson...

This is an amazing professional designer whose work I have been admiring since I saw it at the first time.
Candice Olson is one of the leading professional interior designers in North America. I believe her interiors have souls. Her choice of materials is absolutely great and all her projects are filled with personality and excellent style.
First I saw her show on Divine Design Channel and I was so impressed how she approaches the designing process and selection of materials. And of course her sketches - simply the masterpieces! She has become my idol and her professional level is my purpose to intent.
She has an amazing energy and it is obvious how much she loves her job, so she inspires me to create ...
Candice Olson (born October 27, 1964 in Kenora, Ontario, Canada), received a bachelor's degree from the University of Calgary in Canada, at the same time, she played volleyball for the National women's volleyball team in Canada. After graduation, Candice went to Toronto, where she attended the School of Interior Design at Ryerson University. After graduation, Olson worked for several years in the best interior design firms in Canada. In 1994, having received the necessary experience, Candice started her own design practice, Candice Olson Design.

Candice Olson first appeared on  television after a Canadian broadcaster has represented one of its award-winning design projects. In 2001, a Canadian TV channel W Network hired Candice Olson as a presenter  of their design and decoration TV show called "Divine Design with Candice Olson".

Her interiors are always comfortable without too much glamour and all the items are in place.

I admire the way she picks up textures, combines materials and colors...

In 2005, Candice launched her own collection called  ‘The Candice Olson Collection’, which consistsed of home decoration items. In 2011 a new TV show called Candice Tells All appeared.
Thanks to her, I fell in love with the red color of the wood, which before that,  didn't like ...
Her work shows all her personality I presume - bright, lively and penetrating mind with mild irony. Candice itself defines his style as "a fusion of traditional form, scales and proportions with the clean, fresh and simple beauty of modern design."
She has released several books by now and I’m a happy owner of some of them but still need to add two more books to my collection.
My little collection...
In my work I am quite often inspired by her designs, her manner of arranging the furniture in the room, decorating walls and playing with light. My graphic drawing has evolved  thanks to her sketches, she became my mentor in the design world. At first I mostly copied her a bit  but afterwards, at some point, I developed my own techniques and even started to improve them.
My technique has improved with time...
Unfortunately, in my country manual design sketching is highly undervalued. But I am a large promoter of this way of working and always present to my customers manually drawn sketches.  I think the manual drawing has more soul and often looks much more ''alive and real'' than all those 3D models. Candice proves this statement by showing the amazing manual sketches that much better than all those impersonal 3D images in the design studios.

I have a dream or even a goal  -  I would like to meet this legendary person, visit some of her lectures and even work with her. May be it is not easy to achieve but as I believe that all our thoughts can  materialize, I am sure that by having such extremely high,  ‘unrealistic’ goals and working  a lot every person can make any goal very real.  The main thing here is faith - faith in yourself, strong believe that  you are really able to get what you want and even more.

Candice became my idol and source of my professional inspiration. And  do you have any person who inspires you, people to look up to?
